Short Biography:
Dennis is a Researcher and PhD Candidate in organizations and governance and a researcher with the Oxford Saïd Business School Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and the Oxford University Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. He also teaches undergraduate-level courses in management and sustainable business at Oxford University and the London School of Economics. His work and engagements build on his 15+ years of experience in sustainable governance and finance, and a wide range of cross-sectoral work in policy, law, and consultancy for engineering firms and tech start-ups. He is a co-founder and board member of various organizations and initiatives, including a renewable energy finance firm and a sustainability professionals network. Dennis holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and an MPhil from Oxford University as well as an EUCOR European Campus BA/MA in Law with Economics and Business from the Universities of Basel, Strasbourg, and Freiburg.
Research Interests:
- Innovation: startup entrepreneurship and institutional leadership in social and technological innovation (e.g. social finance, impact measurement)
- Governance: accounting and regulation of organizations in various contexts (private and public companies, constitutional bodies, civil society/non-profit organizations, hybrid organizations)
- Social sciences: qualitative and quantitative research methods and theory for the systematic study of organizations and governance
